The Brown County engineer says spring weight restrictions will go into effect on Friday.
Wayne Stevens says that coincides with the Minnesota Department of Transportation restrictions in the south zone.
It means that all country roads are restricted to five, seven, nine, or ten tons per axle and signs posted on the various roads will indicate the specific limit. Stevens adds that all gravel roads are restricted to five tons per axle, and any road not signed has a ten-ton limit.
These limits are put in place, Stevens said, to reduce road damage during the spring thaw.
