The Community Resource Integration Innovative team from South Central College (SCC) has challenged teams of other faculty and staff at the college to donate more food than their team for the college’s Campus Cupboard.

The competition ends Friday, April 5 when the food will be inventoried and winning teams named based on the number of items donated, the weight of the donated items and the dollar amount raised. Regardless of the outcome, the entire college recognizes that it is the students who are the winners of the competition.

In February, the SCC Community Resource Center created the Campus Cupboard and Clothing Closet, to provide on-campus resources for students facing food or clothing insecurity.

SCC’s Community Resource Integration Innovation team is part of the college-wide Achieving the Dream Initiative. In 2016, South Central College was selected to participate in Achieving the Dream, a nationwide network of more than 220 colleges in 39 states dedicated to student success.  As an Achieving the Dream institution, South Central College is working to implement, align and scale cutting-edge reforms to ensure the success of current students and the sustainability of the college to serve future students.
