The funeral for Minnesota DNR Conservation Officer Eugene Wynn is this morning.

Wynn died a week ago after being thrown off a boat while looking for a body on Cross Lake in Pine City. The 43-year-old had served as a D-N-R conservation officer for nearly 18 years. Governor Tim Walz has ordered all flags be flown at half-staff in Wynn’s honor and he calls Wynn “an outstanding conservation officer, who was admired and respected by his colleagues, and served with dignity and pride.” Wynn is the 22nd DNR officer to die in the line of duty. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
