Former state Representative Joe Radinovich is resigning at the end of the month from a staff position at the I-Triple-R-B, after reports that the agency fast-tracked his hiring in apparent preference over other candidates.   Republican state Representative Sandy Layman from Cohasset says Radinovich’s resignation is appropriate:

“I’m pleased that this hiring fiasco was taken seriously, and that action was taken swiftly.”

Layman says she’ll introduce a bill requiring high-level public job openings be posted for at least 21 days. Radinovich said in a statement that “unfortunately the circumstances surrounding my hiring at the agency have taken the focus off of that work and placed it elsewhere.”
