Minnesota House and Senate negotiators take another shot today (10am) at compromise on the jobs-and-energy portion of the state budget, after crossing swords Friday afternoon about Democrats’ proposal for paid family and medical leave:

“What do you want to do? Do you want to just disband this particular committee and not hear about paid family leave?”

….said lead Democratic negotiator Tim Mahoney to his Republican counterpart Eric Pratt, who answered…

“This is, in my view, a hyper-partisan show.”

Governor Tim Walz ratcheted-up pressure Friday, speaking at the State Capitol to cheering advocates for paid family and medical leave.
