This week a task force at the University of Minnesota got an infusion of one million dollars from the Otto Bremer Trust to continue work on implementing better strategies to care for people over the age of 60. Dr. Jim Pacala says the need is obvious.

“Right now in the state of Minnesota, there is about 700-thousand seniors, in 20 years that’s going to grow to about 1.3 million so we’re going to need a workforce to take care of that population.”

Pacula says there are strategies that can produce better outcomes in this population, but design changes are necessary to make sure they are accessible to all.
