The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) division will join FEMA and local emergency managers in additional preliminary damage assessments (PDAs) starting today (Monday). HSEM spokesman Kevin Reed says they’ll be traveling…

“Pretty much all over the state and what we’re looking at is damage to public infrastructure, so roads, bridges, public buildings and things like that.”

PDAs already took place in 24 counties and one tribal nation last week. Teams are documenting eligible damages after widespread flooding and severe weather in March and April.
