In conjunction with Law Enforcement Memorial Day, (WED) honor guards from the Minnesota Law Enforcement Association are standing guard at the Peace Officers’ Memorial in St. Paul honoring the 286 Minnesota officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.   Sgt. Jeff Beck of the Rogers Police Department says it’s been a tough year:

“We’ve laid to rest two corrections officers this year and then also just recently a Minnesota DNR conservation officer. So we’ve had a total of three that we will be adding to the memorial and dedication service.”

At the conclusion of the Standing of the Guard, a candlelight vigil will take place at the Peace Officers’ Memorial.
