After missing Monday’s session deadline for a vote, it appears funding for election security will have to be approved in a special session. The state is entitled to $6.6 million from the federal government and Minnesota Secretary of State says we need the money ASAP…

“Minnesota is now the only state in America, the only without use of any of this money. We’re the outlier, we’re the exception, and that really is intolerable, that can’t go on, we needed that money weeks and months ago.”

The House approved the full amount in the regular session. Senate Republicans approved about a million-and-a-half in funding saying they needed more assurances about how the money would be spent.
