MNN continues a look at the 2018 Homelessness study. After the results of face to face interviews were released earlier this month, Brian Pittman with Wilder Research says a close look at the data shows a trend that may seem counter-intuitive to the concept of homelessness.

“30% of the adult homeless population having some type of employment in the last month is a good thing to be able to find housing, but it’s also concerning when you have high numbers of people who are employed and still can’t find housing.”

Pittman says employment remains highly volatile because of issues with access to transportation and the inconsistent nature of some of the jobs available to those experiencing homelessness.
