The city of Mankato is launching two no cost transit options Monday (June 3). Kato Flex helps create opportunities for people without access to fixed bus routes to reach a transit hub, and this summer, youth can ride city buses at no cost.
Kato Flex is another way to ride the bus with us. Available within Sibley, Germania and Tourtellotte (north neighborhoods), Skyline, LeHillier, West Mankato and South Bend Townships, Kato Flex serves areas in Mankato where fixed-bus routes are unavailable. Since it’s an appointment-based service, customers can schedule a ride at a time that works for them.
Residents in these areas, also known as Flex Zones, simply call 507-625-RIDE (7433) to register to use this service to get them to:
- Cherry Street Hub, 110 East Cherry Street, or
- Mayo Clinic Health System (door two, facing north), 1025 Marsh Street.
Youth (age 6 through high school) may ride all city of Mankato buses at no cost. High school students simply need to show identification
