Famed country trio Dixie Chicks, whose last album ‘Taking The Long Way’ was released in 2006 and went to Number One, have recently announced a new album and arena tour set for 2020.
Dixie Chicks member Natalie Maines, who went on the ‘Spiritualgasm’ podcast, revealed the new album will be called ‘Gaslighter’ and is close to being finished.
Maines said that the album was originally intended to be all covers, but as events in their personal lives unfolded, they decided to write their own material. This is in the wake of Natalie Maines’ divorce from her husband, actor Adrian Pasdar.
‘Gaslighter’, which will be their last with Sony, has been described as being very emotional and personal to the members of the group. Maines said, “Our last album was the most personal and autobiographical we’d ever been, and then this one is, like, 10 times that”.
Maines also said she considers the upcoming project to be their best yet.
