Jimmy Dickens, a lifelong country artist, became an official member of the Grand Ole Opry on November 6th, 1941 at the age of 28.

Dickens, whose first performance at the Opry took place earlier that same year in February, would go on to be a lifelong regular at the legendary venue.

He got an early start on his county music career, performing as Jimmy the Kid on radio stations across the country as a teenager.

He was the oldest living member of the Opry until his death in 2015.
