15 of the 24 Minnesotans who died from COVID-19 over the weekend were residents of long-term care facilities. Despite the alarming numbers, the Minnesota Health Department’s Kris Ehresmann says…

“We know the importance of these visits and social connections for the health and well being of long-term care, and really for all of us. The toll of the separations of families and loved ones has been one of the most heartbreaking parts of the COVID-19 outbreak.”

Ehresmann says officials are still trying to determine the best way of maintaining a balance to limit visitors in an effort to keep COVID-19 out of long-term care facilities.
