An increase in public watchdog reports of “gatherings of teens and young adults” prompted the Minnesota Department of Health to issue a reminder that, despite the overwhelming number of deaths and cases in people over 70 years old, COVID-19 is not just a disease for the elderly.

“I absolutely understand the desire to be with friends and have fun, but even if you are young and healthy, we need you to do your part to slow the spread.”

Kris Ehresmann with MDH reminded young people they potentially can act as carriers for the virus, even if they don’t suffer symptoms.
