Now that the 2020 special session is in the books without agreements on policing bills, a bonding bill or COVID-19 aid, what’s next? Hamline University political analyst David Schultz says it’s likely another session will be called, and if it happens…

“There’s going to need to be negotiations and work undertaken by all the sides so they can actually go into that special session, saying for example here are the police reforms they can agree to, when it comes to the bonding bill, here is the dollar amount and the projects that can be agreed to.”

Governor Tim Walz said he was disappointed with how the session ended and called it a “failure.”
