Food and supply drives popped up across the Twin Cities, and around the state, to benefit those affected by rioting and unrest in Minneapolis and St. Paul. One such drive was set up by Zach Duckworth a Lakeville business owner, politician and member of the National Guard. Duckworth says being part of the response to the unrest made it clear this kind of giving is necessary.
“The situation that was going on at the beginning of June might have calmed down. But there is still a need, we have to remember it, we can’t just forget about it.”
Duckworth says anyone can use the connections in their own personal community to even put together a small pool of donations that can go a long way.
