Last week Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison filed a lawsuit against major players in the oil industry, accusing them of misleading consumers about climate change. Ellison cited consumer protection laws in his suit. Conservatives like U-S Senate candidate Jason Lewis are pushing back, saying the move is simply political posturing.

“It is telling anybody, doesn’t matter if it is Exxon mobile or an oil company or a think tank, you can’t disagree with us on climate change, or we will accuse you of misleading people.”

Lewis called the suit a waste of taxpayer time and money that should be spent by the A-G’s office on upholding the duly passed laws of the state.
