Xcel Energy has donated over 1.5 million high-efficiency LED light bulbs to the state’s 600 food shelves. The 4-packs of bulbs will be free for food bank patrons:

“With so many families facing financial challenges due to COVID-19 everyone is looking for ways to save money and this is just a simple way to reduce energy use and lower their bills.”

Xcel Energy Spokeswoman Sherryl Volkert says these bulbs can last at least 12 years and save more than 55 dollars over their lifetime.
