Rep. Jeremy Munson of Lake Crystal is part of a group suing Governor Walz over his emergency powers.

He says under the law, a public health crisis isn’t listed as a reason for creating laws from the executive branch.

“So that’s why we are suing is that he doesn’t even have that power. It isn’t a debate of it COVID is serious or not, it is about restoring the power to the legislature to create laws.”

Since the COVID pandemic began, Walz has issued 79 executive orders.
