A day after a hosting a senate hearing on the Minnesota Department of Health’s response to COVID-19, state senator Michelle Benson says instead of reacting with a series of executive orders, the state needs to respond with a thoughtful long-range plan.

“Let doctors treat patients, get our healthcare system stable, and start thinking about what the government is planning and are you, as an individual asking questions? Not in a rebellious way, in a way that free people should ask questions.”

Benson says a significant question to address will be what is the end point for the governor’s emergency powers?
