It promises to be a school year unlike any other due to COVID-19. Students throughout the state will be learning in person, from home or a combination of both. And Minnesota Education Commissioner Mary Cathryn Ricker says that while the learning methods may look different this year…

“Our academic standards still exist and we have a responsibility to teach to them and measure our students learning and then to share that measurement with our students and with their families.”

Ricker says the goal this school year is the same as if there weren’t a pandemic: to provide a “high quality” learning experience–while providing a safe environment for all students.
