Safety and security in Minnesota in the days up to the presidential inauguration — the topic later today (noon) when Governor Tim Walz addresses Minnesotans. Yesterday (Thurs) at the Korean War Memorial in Duluth, the governor said about last week’s violence in Washington DC:

“To watch our Capitol be broken, to watch members of Congress and the vice president of the United States feel threatened, this is our generation’s call to figure out how we’re gonna make this better.”

The governor said “there has to be accountability” but cautioned President Trump’s opponents against feeling joy or vengeance over his impeachment.   And he asked both sides to “find a way to move forward.”
