A top Minnesota analyst says President Biden will have a difficult time bridging the gap with Trump supporters, despite pledges in his inaugural address:
“I promise you, I will fight as hard for those who did not support me, as for those who did.”
Hamline University Professor David Schultz predicts Trump backers probably won’t believe it — at least not initially:
“A lot of the hard-core Trump supporters still believe the election was stolen, that Joe Biden is not a legitimate president.”
Schultz says the question is, can Biden take actions beyond his inaugural speech that will start to bridge those gaps.
