Minnesota D-F-L Party faithful this weekend re-elected Chairman Ken Martin to a sixth two-year term, continuing his tenure as the longest-serving chairman in the D-F-L’s 75-year history. Martin says the Minnesota D-F-L is probably in its strongest position ever:

“The biggest challenge moving forward over these next two to four years for the D-F-L is to make sure that we keep everyone, regardless of where they fall on the ideological spectrum, in the same boat, rowing in the same direction towards our shared goals.”

Martin says being a “big tent” party is certainly the D-F-L’s strength and he “wouldn’t change that in a million years” — but Martin says in some cases people have used that to divide Democrats.
