Despite the pandemic, the Rochester-based Mayo Clinic finished 2020 with 727-million dollars in profits. The health care company’s financial report showed nearly 14-billion dollars in total revenue, which is one-point-five-percent higher than in 2019. The Mayo Clinic made furloughs and pay cuts in the early months of the pandemic, but cited investments, philanthropic gifts and alternative revenue sources for their surprising growth.   At one point, the clinic projected a loss of three-billion dollars when elective surgeries were shut down.
