(Minneapolis, MN) — The city of Minneapolis is facing another lawsuit for how it handled the protests that sparked after the killing of George Floyd. This comes after a federal judge ruled last Friday that the case could not be dismissed and after the city reached a 27-million-dollar settlement with Floyd’s family. The American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota and a Boston law firm are behind the second lawsuit. They say peaceful protesters were tear-gassed, pepper-sprayed and shot at with hard foam bullets and flashbangs to intimidate and quash the protests. They added that the officers often fired without giving warning and injured several protesters.
