Minnesota health officials say they are now seeing outbreaks of the B.1.1.7 UK variant of COVID-19 in four counties. Multiple infections have been found in Scott County, Blue Earth County, part of St. Louis County, and Carver County. In response, a two-day COVID testing event will be held at the Aurora Community Center today and tomorrow. This follows a slow surge in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations within the state. Studies suggest the UK variant is more infectious, but all three available vaccines seem to be effective against it.
