Heat waves are too often followed by severe weather at this time of year in Minnesota — and the Insurance Federation of Minnesota’s Mark Kulda  says homeowners should double-check with their insurance agent to make sure coverage is adequate:

“In the last year the price of lumber has skyrocketed and, because of that, policyholders might find themselves in the circumstance of not having enough coverage to fully replace their home if it’s damaged.”

Kulda says you can purchase replacement cost coverage which will cover full cost of repairs even if there’s inflation.
