Organizers expect over a thousand opponents of Enbridge’s Line 3 to march this morning (10am) from Coffee Pot Landing in north-central Minnesota to where the pipeline is planned to cross the headwaters of the Mississippi River. Joey Peltier (pell-TEER) from the Turtle Mountain Band in North Dakota:
“Saying, ‘no more’ to fossil fuels, ‘no more’ to endangering our farmland, our treaty land, our wild rice beds that Enbridge is crossing.”
Peltier says actions will be peaceful. Governor Tim Walz says law enforcement in 12 northern Minnesota counties will ensure safety for workers, those exercising First Amendment rights, and citizens in the area.
