MANKATO, Minn. – The Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) and Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) are seeking public input on the draft design concepts for future improvements on Hwy 169 in Mankato, North Mankato, and South Bend Township. An online meeting and virtual open house are scheduled to provide community members an opportunity to learn about the draft design concepts and provide input to help determine the final design concept recommendations for Hwy 169 improvements.

Public involvement
The live online meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 23 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. The virtual open house website can be accessed any time from June 23 – July 12. To register for the online meeting and visit the virtual open house website, go to the project website: hwy169corridorstudy.com

During the online meeting, attendees will hear an overview of the corridor study process, review the draft design concepts, ask questions and provide feedback directly to project staff. The virtual open house will provide a similar opportunity for participants review the draft design concepts at any time and provide feedback through a survey and comment map. Community members without internet access can drop off written comments in the drop box outside the Intergovernmental Center or mail them to MAPO located in the same building: Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza, Mankato, MN 56001.

Project overview
MAPO and MnDOT are conducting a transportation study on Hwy 169 through North Mankato, Mankato, and South Bend Township. See project area map. The study will analyze safety, intersections, traffic flow, pedestrian and bicyclist connections, and alternative roadway designs to develop a long-term transportation vision for the corridor.
