Opponents of Enbridge’s Line 3 vow they’re not finished, after they say over two thousand turned out Monday for the “largest resistance yet” to the pipeline under construction in northern Minnesota.  Nationally-known environmentalist Bill McKibben says:

“Even if… a drop never spills anyplace in Minnesota, once that oil gets burned it’s all spilling into the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide, and that’s what’s driving the climate crisis that at least theoretically everybody, including the governor of Minnesota, says is the worst problem we’re facing.”

Jane Fonda was among those calling on President Biden to block Line 3, as the Obama-Biden administration did on the Keystone pipeline in 2014.  Enbridge in a written statement said it hopes  “all parties would come to accept the outcome of the thorough, science-based review and multiple approvals of the project.”
