The Justice Department is already investigating Minneapolis police practices. In a letter to U-S Attorney General Merrick Garland, Omar and several local lawmakers and Minneapolis and Hennepin County officials are requesting the Justice Department consider additional investigations of other law enforcement entities that also contribute to what they call “an environment of racial violence and injustice.
