(Plymouth, MN) — Day two of the nurses strike at Allina WestHealth in Plymouth is now over. Healthcare officials began the boycott on Sunday in hopes of receving a new contract that provides better wages and summer holiday pay for the nurses. According to reports, the strike comes after the Minnesota Nurses Association and Allina Health, which operates the hospital, failed to reach an agreement following negotiations last Wednesday. In a statement Monday, Allina said they were “disappointed” in the nurses who decided to partake in the protest. The strike is expected to end tomorrow at 5 p.m.
