“Turn your temperature down at night when you go to sleep or when you’re going to be away for awhile and just that one step can save about 10% on your energy bills in the winter.”

Schriner says applying a clear plastic film on the inside of windows is a great way to keep out drafts. And she recommends adjusting your heat registers to put the heat in the rooms where you most need it.
