Officials with some hospitals in Minnesota say a third surge of COVID-19 is underway as hospitalizations and ICU cases increase. HealthPartners officials has declared a third surge, pointing to hospitalizations that have more than tripled in the last month. The age of those hospitalized has also fallen. The average age of Minnesotans hospitalized fell from 65 in November to 55 this month. Officials say part of the surge is linked to people letting down their guard and giving up on masks and going to crowded events.
