Extra law enforcement concentrated in the Twin Cities is starting to return to Greater Minnesota after Tuesday’s peaceful end to the Derek Chauvin trial.   State Patrol Chief, Colonel Matt Langer says they’re demobilizing in a strategic way:

“Members are ready to go home, they’re eager to go home, some of them are home, and many have hours to go before they get home.”

But Colonel Langer stresses law enforcement resources will still be available in the Twin Cities:

“For sure through the weekend and into the foreseeable future, to make sure that we’re ready in the event that something comes up.”

But Langer says they’re hopeful the last few peaceful nights are an indication of the future for Minnesota.
