The trial of Derek Chauvin is over, and new data says millions tuned in for the verdict. The Nielsen company shared Thursday that at least 23-million Americans watched as Chauvin was convicted of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd. The company’s estimate was drawn from viewership figures on 11 different networks that aired Tuesday’s verdict live. Nielson believes the actual audience was likely higher as they did not include ESPN, which also carried the verdict.
