The Minnesota Medical Association (MMA) is urging all Minnesotans to continue COVID-19 precautions to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect children. That’s in the wake of news earlier this week that a six-year-old Minnesota girl died due to complications from COVID-19.

“I’m in no way suggesting that we should be shutting down schools, but really as a state, we need to be very mindful that not everyone has the ability to get vaccinated right now.”

MMA President Marilyn Peitso says Minnesotans need to take action to slow the spread of COVID-19 because we are not yet at “herd immunity.” She says everyone eligible should get vaccinated–and we should all continue to wear masks and stay socially distant when possible.
