An individual is being sought in connection to a number of thefts and credit card fraud that have occurred in Mankato and surrounding communities, with an estimated $2,200 stolen from four businesses in Southern Minnesota. These incidents occurred between June 8 and 11, 2021.

The suspect’s image was captured by surveillance camera. He is described as a Black male, and in this incident he was wearing a green, orange, blue and white striped shirt; below-the-knee khaki shorts; white calf-high socks and slip-on sandals; square wireframe glasses; and a longer gaiter/bandana type mask that came to the middle of his chest. The mask is black or dark blue in color with a white, diamond-shaped pattern on the front.

“As we do our own work on racial equity and partner for community-led police reform, there was much discussion prior to determining the release of this photo, and we reached out to members of the Police Reform Committee for guidance,” says Director of Public Safety Amy Vokal. “Based on the level of the crime, the number of victims, and how many communities these crimes have occurred in over a period of time, it is important to share this photo to assist in identifying this person.”
